After going on the walking tour, Steve and I took a second trip into the city to enjoy strolling along the waterfront:

We headed to Victoria, taking the BC Ferries to spend the day at  https://www.butchartgardens.com/ We also had a fabulous meal at Finn's down on Wharf street. We headed back to Victoria early the next morning. Here are some pics:  Dinner at Finn's in Victoria:  View from Finn's Butchart Gardens:  What our Ferry looked like, we had breakfast coming and going that was actually quite good.  We were first in line, meaning that we also had a view of the Bay from our truck!

September 16, 2024 We arrived at  Burnaby Cariboo RV Park  yesterday. It is a very nice RV park over 200 sites that are well spaced and organized. There are privacy hedges between each space.  Today we went into Vancouver. We went to Paul's set, North Shore Studio. He is the foreman for implementing set designs for movies. We went out to lunch with two of his team, Paul and us. We then toured his work.  We then went to  Lynn Canyon Park  A beautiful park close to Paul's work. The pathways were mainly wood walkways. We crossed the suspension bridge and another lower falls bridge on a loop trail. Very pleasant. You can look at the links for better pictures but here are some that we took:

Gondola and Banff Highlights tour

Image
Steve did a great job describing our last day in Banff, where we took the Lake Louise Gondola up to a wonderful restaurant "The Whitehorn Bistro"  From Steve yesterday: The ride each way was 15 minutes. Going up we chose the open 4 seater chair lift that skiers use. Cloudy with  threatening skies but beautiful views. Maria informs me that the last time she was on a chairlift they had to stop the lift to untangle her on her departure. No problem this time 👈. A short hike down (what goes down must come back up) to the Whitehorn Bistro with panoramic views of Lake Louise and ten majestic Canadian Rockies mountain peaks, all towering between 8,000' and 11,000'. Whoa! We sat inside as staff said rain was imminent. Food and service was great. Our hike back UP to the lift required a couple of rest stops as the oxygen content of the air is very thin at 8600' elevation 😅. We chose the enclosed four person capacity gondola for the ride down. I noted the manufacturer of t...

Lake Louise and Lake Moraine

Image
September 10th, 2024 We had a beautiful day today. We started from the train station at Banff. We had booked a transit for Lake Louise and Lake Moraine. We left at 10:00 arriving at Lake Louise for 2.5 hours then on to Moraine.  At Lake Louise, we hiked the lakeshore walk. I say hike but it really was a "promanade" along the lake.  We then had lunch at Louisa cafe at the Fairmont Hotel. We had a lovely lunch! Salmon kabobs and an arugula salad.  The water was absolutely gorgeous as were the surrounding Rocky Mountains. Here are some pictures: Lake Louise Glacier from our restaurant table Lake Louise outside venue for lunch.  Lake Louise trail From there, we headed to Lake Moraine. It was also incredibly beautiful. There we did the same thing. We walked along the waterway and also captured beautiful shots. Here are some pictures:  Lake Moraine
